John Mayall Birthday Tribute! WATCH NOW!

At 85, the British blues legend, John Mayall, is planning to return to touring next year.  Let's all wish him a very happy birthday with many more to come!  During my time with John, we created some magical moments on stage and in the studio.  One of the more memorable times between us was created when John appeared on my solo album, Let My Guitar Do The Talking…with my friends, playing organ on Think About It.  Enjoy!   Don't we all hope to still be able to stand on stage at 85?  Cheers to you, John!

First UK Tour with John Mayall - 2009

As we end another touring year, I thought it would be fun to share a little clip from my very first UK tour with John.   In 2009, we were a larger band and I was heavily into playing my strats.  My how things have changed...

Playing my 1962 white Fender Stratocaster reissue (with matching white tennis shoes).   I love vintage reissue guitars but thank goodness they don't reissue white tennis shoes!

Before anyone jumps to the wrong conclusion about the video captions, this video clip was provided by a fan in Scotland who added the captions.   Thank you, Guy, for the awesome clip!  You can subscribe to his YouTube channel for more videos.

I always really enjoy playing this T-Bone Walker classic with John Mayall.  Written in the 1940's, "They Call It Stormy Monday, (but Tuesday's Just As Bad)" has stood the test of time as a musical masterpiece.  Did you know that in 1983, the song was inducted into the Blues Foundation Blues Hall of Fame calling it "one of the most influential records not only in blues history but guitar history?

Anders Olow of Sweden filmed this awesome moment from a concert with John Mayall while we were on tour in Europe.  Thank you for posting, Anders!  Enjoy and please share with your friends!
