Tommy Bolin Birthday Tribute! Watch NOW!

Let’s celebrate Tommy Bolin’s birthday with a little guitar history lesson about six degrees of separation .  In the 70's, Joe Walsh recommended a phenomenal guitar player named Tommy Bolin to replace him in The James Gang.  A year later, Tommy moved on to replace Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple and his legacy grew.  After his death, I met his brother Johnnie when we both played with Black Oak Arkansas.  That friendship led to playing with Johnnie and Glenn Hughes for the Tommy Bolin Tribute tours and a great musical performance was released from that experience!  We had such a rockin' good time working together that Johnnie offered me one of Tommy's acoustic songs that had never been released for my upcoming Miracle album and Johnnie played drums on it!  Slow Driver is that song and as they say...the rest is history!  Thank you, Tommy!

Happy Birthday to Glenn "The Voice of Rock" Hughes! Listen NOW!

Please join me in wishing my friend, Glenn Hughes, a rockin' good birthday!   Glenn and I had an amazing time "Gettin' Tighter" for the Tommy Bolin Foundation tour with Johnnie Bolin on drums.  Check it out!   Best known as "The Voice of Rock", Deep Purple bassist, front man for Trapeze, amazing singer/songwriter of Coast to Coast, Tommy Bolin Archive Foundation supporter and now touring with Black Country Communion with Joe Bonamassa!   Glenn is the real deal!  Happy birthday, brother!  Rock on!

Tommy Bolin Music Festival - This Week!

In the 70's, Tommy Bolin replaced Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple and was a phenomenal guitarist.  When I met Tommy's brother, Johnnie Bolin, drummer and founder of the Tommy Bolin Foundation, he asked me to play shows with Glenn Hughes in support of the Foundation.  We had a rockin' good time together!

While recording my album, Miracle, Johnnie presented Tommy's acoustic version of Slow Driver that had never been released and the rest is...as they say...history.  I was so impressed with Tommy Bolin's playing and song structure that I was honored to record this with Johnnie playing drums.
