Music Monday - LIVE from Montreal with John Mayall!

Most people might assume that playing such a prestigious festival like the Montreal Jazz Festival with John Mayall is a problem-free adventure but....there is a behind the scenes disaster in the making when my Fender Twin amp blew.  In under 45 seconds, the stage hands grabbed a smaller Fender amp with one 12" speaker, I plugged in and started this song.  You won't believe the results!  Around the 10 minute mark in the video, the amp really shows what it's got!  Thanks to the great festival stage crew who pulled this off!

Who would have thought one 12" speaker could sound like that?  Talk about rockin' the blues and playing it loud!  John Mayall sounded better than ever on vocals and harmonica!   This was a totally AWESOME night of music, adventure and fun!

Music Monday on Tour - Watch Now!

As we wind up the big tour of 2014 in the UK, King King join us on stage for an encore.  The boys from Scotland, Alan Nimmo, Wayne Proctor, Bob Fridzema and Lindsay Coulson are great musicians and we had a great time!  Enjoy!

After 46 days on the road and four more shows to go, I would say we are certified "Road Warriors"!

Music Monday - Watch Now!

Playing Hideaway with John Mayall is a highlight many nights on tour for the audience.  Since Eric Clapton's iconic performance of the Freddie King classic on the Beano album in 1966, it has become a standard that is requested, expected and never disappoints.

This week's Music Monday showcases a classic live performance by John Mayall and myself brought to you by The Stickman, John Muggianu.  This 11-year old Canadian drummer is digging deep into blues history to show his appreciation for the art form as he demonstrates his skill at rockin' the blues with the legend.

When Eric Clapton recorded Hideaway in 1966, he played it on a Les Paul with a rock guitar tone and I was inspired by his approach because it was fresh and innovative.   Today I am inspired by The Stickman and his innovative approach to rockin' the blues and sharin' it with me!   It's so awesome to see young people turned on to music and I would be lying if I didn't tell you how big my smile was when I watched this.  I bet you will be smiling, too!  Thank you for sharin' with us and keep rockin' & bluesin', my friend!

Music Monday - Watch Now!

John Muggianu, a.k.a. "The Stickman", is an 11-year old drummer from Canada that got my attention by covering songs from my albums.  Last week on Twitter, John asked me to give him a #drumchallenge.  So...I asked him to try "You Move Me" from my album, Miracle and see if he could master the kick drum pattern because it is pretty tricky.  The result of that challenge is this week's Music Monday.

I can't help but smile every time John sends me another video and I just have to share it with you guys.

John wants to know if he moved me?   Yes... John,  You Move Me!  Did he move you?  Congratulations to John and his dad, Frank.  You make a great team!

Happy Music Monday, everybody!  And don't forget that you can download your copy of the album directly from this website.  The entire album is on sale this week for only $7.99.  Just click Here.  How easy is that?
